Each linocut is hand-printed by Kiyo on Wenzhou paper made from the bark of the mulberry tree. The paper has lots of visible imperfections that almost become part of the artwork itself and the edges are wet-torn in a little tribute to ancient printmaking tradition. Using a natural material like this, with it’s own character, felt appropriate for Wanderweg and everything the zine is about.
